Emma McLaren is a sustainable seafood consultant helping everyone from restaurant owners and schools to major retailers and seafood suppliers navigate today’s complex and confusing sustainable seafood choices. She is working to connect people to fish and fish to people by first connecting people to people through conversation and strengthened supply chains.
Emma’s unique vantage point lies in her strong academic credentials, experience in the sustainable seafood arena and skill in bridging the scientific with the practical. A food enthusiast and globetrotting scuba diver, she has also worked with the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership’s Major Buyer Education Division, SeaWeb’s Seafood Summit, SEAT and Catchbox Projects and the WWF on their Sustainable Seafood Initiative and Salmon Aquaculture Dialogue Initiative. She holds a Master of Marine Management degree from Dalhousie University focusing on fisheries management, aquaculture management and certification schemes.
